  • Describe how methods and operations adapt to incorporate new tools for early detection and assessment. 
  • List the lessons learned from setting up the methodology for the early detection and assessment of public health events in international collaborations.
  • Explain why collaboration in epidemic intelligence is important and how it can be maintained and strengthened.

  This presentation is part of a thematic session held at ESCAIDE 2025, titled ‘Global Epidemic Intelligence: strengthening early detection and assessment of public health events’. Effective Epidemic Intelligence requires global collaboration for the rapid detection, validation and assessment of public health events. This session will discuss methodological aspects of epidemic intelligence through the experience of international organisations, focusing on how each organisation works in partnership to ensure early detection and assessment of public health events.
